Meat Man in plastic town is a short work of horror fiction using the aesthetics of a children's storybook to examine toxic positivity and the corrosive effect of neglect masquerading as benign affirmation. It is informed by my own experiences witnessing the effects of medical neglect in people close to me, and aims to depict the horror of being told everything will be okay by the very same people who refuse to treat your worsening illness.
